Year 6 - Elder & Oak
TERM 3
Welcome to Year 6!
Welcome Back to Term 3 – Year 6
Welcome back to Term 3! This is an important and exciting time for our Year 6 pupils as we begin focused preparation for the upcoming SATs and continue developing the independence and responsibility needed for secondary school.
This term, children will be encouraged to approach their learning with confidence, resilience and determination. High expectations remain in place, particularly in relation to school uniform, as maintaining smart standards helps prepare pupils for the routines and expectations of secondary school.
Reading continues to be a key priority. All children are expected to read at least three times a week, with adults signing the reading record to support this routine. Homework must be completed to a high standard and brought into school on time, allowing pupils to take ownership of their learning and develop important organisational skills.
By encouraging responsibility, independence and pride in their work, we aim to ensure every child feels prepared, confident and ready for the challenges ahead. We look forward to a successful and positive term as we work together to support our Year 6 pupils in reaching their full potential.
